Eight new leadership appointments announced in March 2017 are testimony to our growth strategy and also reaffirm our commitment to achieving diversity not only in our firm but in the professional services arena as well.

We are aiming for true diversity and inclusion, and to harness the enhanced performance that diverse teams and leaders bring to organisations.    

Evidence of our commitment to the implementation and improvement of our B-BBEE scorecard can be seen in our active learnership programme which provides financial assistance to students studying to become chartered accountants, our active employment equity committee and our involvement in enterprise development initiatives as well as socio-economic development initiatives, which include both mentorship and funding.

Grant Thornton has a presence in 24 countries in Africa: Algeria, Botswana, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Kenya, Libya, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Our African footprint makes us ideally positioned to facilitate clients’ expansion plans into these countries.

 

International Business Centre (IBC)

Grant Thornton South Africa has an accredited IBC located in Johannesburg which coordinates with all offices in South Africa. The centre serves as the gateway to expert resources within the Grant Thornton global organisation, while operating as a hub for global communications, strategy and regionally focused business expertise.

Thirteen years ago our global and South African ‘Women in business’ initiative was launched. Currently Grant Thornton South Africa is proud to say that 34% of our top decision-makers are women, compared to the South Africa national average of 28% and the global average of 25%.
